About "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" 🌟

"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" comes from a French folk song called "Ah! vous dirai-je, maman" from the year 1761. The English words were written by Jane Taylor in 1806 and published in a book of poems for children. The melody has been loved by children all around the world for over 200 years! Even the famous composer Mozart wrote a set of piano variations on this very tune when he was alive.

Meet the New Note: A! 🌟

Before we begin the song, let's meet a new friend. The note A is the sixth white key from Middle C. It is the white key between the second and third black keys in the group of three. If you find G (G-Giraffe's note, to the left of the two black keys), then A is the very next white key to the right. On the treble clef staff, A sits in the second space — the space between the second and third lines. Remember the word FACE? A is the second letter!

Your Hand Position

Place your right thumb on Middle C, pointer on D, middle on E, ring on F, and pinky on G. For the note A, you will stretch your thumb up (or scoot your whole hand slightly to the right). The notes you need for this song are: C, D, E, F, G, and A. That is six notes — your biggest song yet!
