Lesson 3: Meet F and G with Flute Fox & G-Giraffe! 🦊🦒

Hello, note master! By now you already know three amazing notes: C (for Cat), D (for Dog), and E (for Elephant). Today, two new animal friends are joining the band: Flute Fox and G-Giraffe! They are going to teach you notes F and G. After this lesson, you will know all five treble clef notes. How exciting is that?

Meet Note F — Flute Fox's Note! 🦊

The note F belongs to Flute Fox. F stands for Fox! Flute Fox is a clever and musical fox who plays a beautiful silver flute. The note F has a light, airy sound, just like a flute floating through the forest. On the piano, F is the white key directly to the left of the three black keys. From Middle C, walk up four white keys: C, D, E, then F. Press it and say "F for Fox!" with a sly little smile.

On the treble clef staff, the note F sits in the first space — that is the space between the bottom line and the second line. If you remember, the space notes on the treble clef spell the word FACE: F is the first space, A is the second space, C is the third, and E is the top space. Today we only need to remember F in the first space!

Meet Note G — G-Giraffe's Note! 🦒

The note G belongs to G-Giraffe. G stands for Giraffe! G-Giraffe is the tallest animal in our music band, and the note G sits high up on the staff, just like a giraffe reaching for the tallest leaves on a tree. On the piano, G is the white key directly to the left of the next group of two black keys after F. From Middle C, walk up five white keys: C, D, E, F, then G. Press it and say "G for Giraffe!" while stretching your neck up tall.

On the treble clef staff, G sits on the second line from the bottom. That is the line that goes right through the curly part of the treble clef symbol. The treble clef is sometimes called the "G clef" because it curls around the G line!

Review All Five Notes: C-D-E-F-G! 🎶

Congratulations! You now know all five notes of the treble clef from C to G. Let's meet each animal friend one more time:

• 🐱 C = Cat — Middle C, on a ledger line below the staff.
• 🐶 D = Dog — The white key between the two black keys, hanging below the first line.
• 🐘 E = Elephant — Right of the two black keys, sitting on the bottom line.
• 🦊 F = Fox — Left of the three black keys, in the first space.
• 🦒 G = Giraffe — Left of the next group of two black keys, on the second line.

Play the Five-Note Scale 🎹

Place your right thumb on Middle C. Now play each white key in order: C (thumb), D (pointer), E (middle), F (ring), G (pinky). This is called a five-note scale! Play it going up: C-D-E-F-G! Now play it going down: G-F-E-D-C! Smooth and steady, like a musical waterfall.

Try saying the animal names as you play each note: "Cat, Dog, Elephant, Fox, Giraffe!" Then try it backwards: "Giraffe, Fox, Elephant, Dog, Cat!" Your fingers and your brain are working together, building strong musical connections.

Practice Challenge 🌟

1. Play C-D-E-F-G five times going up and five times going down.
2. Ask someone to call out a random animal name and play the matching note as fast as you can.
3. Mix up the notes and create your own little melody. Any combination of C, D, E, F, G sounds nice together!
4. Try the Note Game on "Easy" mode to practice just C, D, and E. Then bump it up to "Medium" to add F, and "Hard" to add G!
